Bahaa Amer, MD and Savan Shah, MD, have joined the statewide practice.
Fort Myers, Fla., October 3, 2023 – Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute, LLC (FCS) is pleased to welcome hematologists and medical oncologists Bahaa Amer, MD and Savan Shah, MD to the statewide practice. Dr. Amer will begin providing care to patients at the FCS Sarasota Cattlemen location at 600 N. Cattlemen Road, Sarasota, FL 34232 and the FCS Lakewood Ranch Cancer Center, 5985 Silver Falls Run, Ste 200, Bradenton, FL 34211 on November 1, 2023. Dr. Shah is providing care to patients at the FCS Axelrod clinic, 400 Pinellas Street, Suite 300, Clearwater, FL.
Dr. Amer received his medical degree from Saba University School of Medicine in the Caribbean Netherlands. He completed Internal Medicine residency training with Florida State University at Sarasota Memorial Hospital and a fellowship in Hematology Oncology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.

After receiving his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana, Dr. Shah completed Internal Medicine residency at the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine in Tampa and was named Chief Resident for Quality and Patient Safety in the Internal Medicine department, one of several leadership roles. He was awarded a Hematology and Oncology fellowship at Moffitt Cancer Center/USF College of Medicine and served as a co-investigator for numerous clinical research studies.
