Ali McBride, PharmD, MS, BCOP, Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC) President and clinical coordinator of hematology/oncology at The University of Arizona Cancer Center, discusses the theme for his presidency: Collaborate. Compensation is the foundation of what he would like to address during his term, says McBride. He plans to develop layers of understanding of the cost of care for patients, which is often overlooked. ACCC will provide further support and understanding on these measures.
The second piece of this theme is innovation, an ongoing strategic goal across both cancer care and healthcare in general. ACCC will provide more educational resources in understanding new models, new techniques, and new electronic devices, McBride says.
